Romans 12:2 NKJV tells us—And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

The word for mind in this verse is traced back to the same context of the Hebrew word: נפשׁ—Transliterated Nephesh [neh’-fesh] Strong’s H5315, found in Genesis 2:7 where God breathed into Adam’s nostrils the breath of life and he became a living soul. Our soul is a direct piece of God’s, and that is why it is so powerful.

This is what contains our mind and where we get our ability to choose, decide, think, reason, show emotions, and our creative nature and capacity. The plan was for it to be cultivated under God’s will, but it was corrupted by sin. Hence from the day we are born there are often many bad seeds that get planted during our lives which later become trees consistently producing bad fruit. Your soul is a garden that will grow any seed that is planted in it.

In order to have better fruit and better outcomes produced in our lives we must use the Word to renovate, reconstruct, and renew our soul (mind). This means we must plant better seeds that lead to better trees producing better fruit. Luke 8:11 tells us that the Word of God is seed and Mark 4:14 informs us that the Sower sows the Word.

Any area of your life where you are failing to prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God is an area where your soul (mind) needs to be reconstructed. So, whenever those areas are revealed—grab your bible and start Sowing!

This has been a gentle reminder that a better life is only a seed away.

Be Blessed!
